Perfect Smootihie

ingredients

  • 10 ounces liquid of choice (the nutritional profile for this recipe uses unsweetened almond milk)
  • 20+ grams protein from 1 scoop protein powder, silken tofu, or low fat Greek yogurt (the nutritional profile for this recipe uses 1 scoop vegan protein powder)
  • 10(ish) grams of fat from seeds, nuts, nut butter, or avocado (the nutritional profile for this recipe uses 2 tablespoons seeds)
  • 1/2 medium banana or 1/2 cup mango for sweetness and creaminess
  • 1/2 cup additional fruit of choice (berries recommended)
  • Handful baby spinach or baby kale (getting greens without a grassy flavor)

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients (liquid first) to a blender and process until smooth.

Notes

Make it into a smoothie bowl by pouring adding less fluid to keep it thicker. Pour it into a bowl and top with nuts, nut butter, seeds, cacao nibs, chopped dried fruit, granola, shredded or shaved coconut, and/or fruit – just remember to account for the calories.

Make frozen smoothie packs by putting all the ingredients except the liquid into individual freezer bags. Simply dump the ingredients and liquid into a blender when you’re ready.
