  • 1 (28-ounce/793g) can crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 ounces fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients except olive oil in a blender, process until smooth.
  2. Heat olive oil to medium in a large pot. Add the tomato mixture, bring to a simmer, reduce to low and partially cover (to prevent splashing) for 45 minutes. Adjust salt and spice.
